Doctors' Day - Wednesday, February 29, 2012 - at the Arizona State Capitol is a day-long event sponsored by the Arizona Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP). This event gives physicians and healthcare providers the opportunity to learn more about Arizona's political process and to advocate on behalf of internists and patients.

The physician couple returned to Phoenix recently and began practicing once again in the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas.  Dr. Michael Stamps has returned to his original practice, Paradise Pediatrics in Phoenix and Dr. Bea Stamps is practicing at Mayo Hospital.

MCMS Member Nominated for AZ Business Healthcare Leadership Awards

Congratulations to Dr. Gino Tutera! Dr. Tutera is a finalist of the 5th Annual Healthcare Leadership awards sponsored by Arizona Business Magazine. The award recognizes the accomplishments of individuals and organizations that help Arizonans receive better medical treatment and healthcare. Dr. Tutera will be honored at their March 8 award ceremony. Winners and honorable mentions will be featured in the March/April issue of the magazine.

UA College of Medicine - Phoenix spring lecture series coming soon

The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix spring series of morning and evening lectures is set to resume in February. Start Smart is the morning lecture and among the topics planned are cancer, disaster preparedness and caregiving for the elderly. Science Café is the late afternoon, wine-and-cheese lecture. MCMS Member Dr. Richard R. Heuser, MD will be presenting at the CTO forum at CRT 2012 in Washington, DC, February 4-7.

Also serving as a Course Director, Dr. Heuser, in conjunction with Craig A. Thompson, MD, Course Director, will kick off the meeting with a historical narrative on devices and frustrations in the CTO space. They will provide an overview of the Japan-to-US technology and technique transition, and bring the group up to speed on current best practices as well as unmet needs.
