The American Medical Association and the AARP have jointly released a brochure (PDF) that physicians can offer their Medicare patients detailing opportunities for free preventive services that are now available under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
English and Spanish versions are available that explain to patients "what to expect, what to bring and what to ask their physician," according to an AMA news release. The AMA has an order form for the free brochures on its website.
"The AMA is proud to join with AARP to help seniors take advantage of the health services now covered by Medicare," Dr. Peter Carmel, AMA president, said in the release. "This brochure clearly explains these covered services so patients can make more informed healthcare decisions with their physicians."
