Karyne Vinales, MDKaryne Vinales, MD is a board-certified endocrinologist, with experience in both her home country of Brazil and in the United States. Dr. Vinales passion is teaching and guiding the next generation(s) of physicians. She is also an advocate for all minority groups; including patients, students, trainees, and colleagues. She believes it is all physicians' duty to serve their communities by promoting quality of care to all in need.
Dr. Vinales received her M.D. in 2003 from the Federal University of Alagoas in Brazil. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and Endocrinology fellowship in Brazil, where she practiced Endocrinology prior to moving to the United States in 2008. She then completed her Internal Medicine residency at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2013, her Endocrinology fellowship at University of Arizona medical Center at Phoenix/VA Health Care System in 2015, and her clinical research fellowship at the NIDDK in 2018. Dr. Vinales is currently an Associate Program Director of the Endocrinology Fellowship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix (UACOMP) campus, works at the Endocrinology Service of the VA Phoenix Medical Center, and is involved in the training of medical students, internal medicine residents and endocrinology fellows. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at UACOMP and a volunteer faculty at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine Arizona Campus.
