2026 MCMS Annual Awards
We are pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the Annual Maricopa County Medical Society Awards, which will be presented at our 134th Annual “Black Tie” Gala on Friday, October 23, 2026. We invite you to help us recognize the extraordinary individuals, including yourself, and organizations shaping the future of healthcare in our community.
These prestigious awards have historically recognized exceptional medical leaders, community partners, and advocates whose contributions have made a lasting impact on medicine and the communities we serve. We invite you to nominate and join the ranks of distinguished physicians and healthcare allies who have preceded you.
This year, we are especially excited to introduce five new award categories designed to highlight the profound work being done across every sector, from clinical excellence and academic leadership to policy, business partnerships, private practices, and public health engagement. These awards reflect the growing importance of collaboration in building a stronger, more robust healthcare landscape and the unique support systems that uplift our medical professionals throughout Maricopa County and across Arizona.
Award Nomination Categories
We encourage physicians, healthcare professionals, business, civic & community leaders, across Maricopa County to submit nominations for outstanding 2026 individual and organizations in the following categories:
The Academic Excellence Award recognizes exceptional physicians who demonstrate outstanding commitment, expertise, and compassion in delivering high-quality education from a medical institution.
The Distinguished Dignitary Leadership in Healthcare Award, honors a public elected official who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and impact in supporting physicians and advancing the principles of patient-centered care.
The Physician Excellence Award recognizes an exceptional currently practicing physician who demonstrate outstanding commitment, expertise, and compassion in delivering high-quality healthcare to their patients.
The Healthcare Leadership Excellence Award recognizes an exceptional philanthropist, community leader, or business partner that has demonstrated outstanding leadership, physician advocacy, promoting public health, and enhancing the healthcare well-being of Arizonans.
The 2026 Hospital Excellence in Healthcare Award honors a hospital that demonstrates exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact in delivering high-quality patient care, supporting physicians, and advancing community health.
The Robert Kravetz, MD Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an exceptional physician who has had an illustrious career spanning over 30 years, during which they have made groundbreaking contributions to medicine and education.
The 2026 Medical School Excellence Award honors a medical school that demonstrates exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
The Organizational Community Excellence Award honors a nonprofit organization that demonstrates exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact in driving positive healthcare change and addressing pressing community needs.
The Outstanding Business Ally in Healthcare Award honors a business or company that demonstrates exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact in advancing healthcare initiatives and supporting community health.
The 2026 Outstanding Private Practice in Healthcare Award, recognizes a private medical practice that exemplifies outstanding leadership in clinical care, innovation, and service to the community.
The Future Healer Medical Student Award recognizes medical school students who demonstrate exceptional dedication, compassion, and promise in their pursuit of becoming future healthcare professionals.
The Resident of the Year Award recognizes an exceptional Resident Physician who demonstrate outstanding commitment, training, and compassion in delivering high-quality healthcare to their patients.
