About the event

Please join MCMS and listen to guest speaker Alissa Darden, MD, FAAP, present on implicit bias and its impact on healthcare disparities. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) report, Unequal Treatment (2003), states that “bias, stereotyping, prejudice, and clinical uncertainty on the part of healthcare providers may contribute to racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare.” Addressing implicit bias among healthcare providers is essential to the effort to eliminate these disparities and ensure that we are providing appropriate and effective cross-cultural care to all of our patients.  MORE Foundation designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
