For Release: Tuesday, February 10, 2026
Phoenix, AZ — The Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) has issued a surveillance alert in response to confirmed measles cases and potential community exposure within Maricopa County. Measles is a highly contagious viral illness that spreads through the air and can lead to serious complications, particularly for children, infants, and immuno-compromised individuals. Public health officials are urging vigilance, early symptom recognition, and ensuring vaccinations are up to date to prevent further spread.
Maricopa County Medical Society (MCMS) would like to to support this public health effort alongside, Zaid Fadul, MD, FS, FAAFP, founder of Bespoke Concierge MD, and former MCMS Board President. He has released a brief public service announcement highlighting the critical importance of the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccination. Dr. Fadul explains how vaccination protects not only individuals, but also families and the broader community by reducing the risk of outbreaks and safeguarding those who are most vulnerable.
