MCMS encourages physicians to consider volunteering with these organizations.
Street Medicine Phoenix
A student-driven interprofessional health care and social justice team consisting of students and faculty primarily from the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, and Northern Arizona University. Street Medicine Phoenix brings needed but underutilized services to where individuals experiencing homelessness are: in parks, under bridges, in alleyways, and other hard-to-reach locations.The minimum monthly commitment is three hours (one shift per month). They typically provide outreach on weekend mornings and weekday evenings.

Mission of Mercy
With a mission of "healing through love," Mission of Mercy provides free healthcare in Arizona, Texas, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. AZMOM usually sets up mobile clinics on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. They also have a medical RV. A training session is required of every new volunteer.

Maricopa County Department of Public Health
The county health department is always looking for volunteers to assist with a range of services like influenza clinics, vaccinations for school children, and COVID-19 point of dispensing sites. By registering as a volunteer, you would be notified whenever there is a volunteer opportunity that fits your schedule and credentials. To expedite processing your registration, MCMS recommends you complete this confidentiality agreement and this background check form. Both are required.
